World Politics System Beta

This game is a public playtest. You can test out the game for free but keep in mind it will become paid content when the full game releases.

Overview

World Politics System is a simple megagame for 10-100 players + organizers.

The standard length for a game of WPS is about 4 hours, and 5 hours including orientation, debrief and cleanup.

Players take the roles of presidents, prime ministers and dictators to lead the countries of the world through crises like climate change, international conflicts or threats of new technology like artificial intelligence. Some players can also play multinational corporations or international crime networks.

The game is run by a 6+ person organizer team tasked to control the flow of the game and facilitate interactions, cause global crises and help the players with game rules.

• 25 playable factions than can be played solo or in a team.
• Easy to manufacture components: most of the materials are printable on standard a4 paper.
• Only one page of rules per player! The game is intended to be learned at the start of the event.
• Game runner manual with an example plotline and advice on running the event.
• Easy to expand system. The base game can be set to run by itself and the game runners can write all kinds of scenarios and crises to model all kinds of conflicts and alternate futures. The world map contains more countries than are included in the game, so you can expand the game to even greater sizes.

What you need besides printables:

• 6-sided dice
• 500 poker chips in 5 distinct colors (100 each). Less is needed for small player counts.
• Post-it notes
• Pens
• Wooden or plastic beads
• Plastic shot glasses
• Generic plastic tokens for all kinds of situations

If you have access to a laser cutter and a 3d printer you can manufacture some of the components yourself.
