Plywood Screen for Boardgames and RPGs

This is a  ~20cm wide plywood screen you can use to hide your dice, poker chips or other components behind.

You need a cutting machine such as a laser cutter to manufacture this!

DXF file

The project comes in a DXF format, which can be opened with most vector  illustrator software.

Tested with Adobe Illustrator

When importing, the file is in inches. Be sure to change the width and height to inches before cutting.

You can also add   your  own  engraved  designs  in the  process.

Materials

The file has been tested with 2mm laser plywood, but should also work with 3mm and  perhaps even further. Cricut should also be able to cut appropriate wood.

Building instructions

After cutting the  screens, follow these steps:

  1. Submerge the part or at least the hinge under hot (or warm) water. Let it soak fully.
  2. Carefully bend the hinge so that the topside with the burn marks is outside. Bend a little bit at a time and do not use much force if the wood is stiff.
  3. Once you've managed to bend a full 90 degrees, clamp the sides so that they remain in the 90 degree position.
  4. Let dry while clamped until fully dry. The bends should now remain in place.
  5. Sand the surfaces (optional) as water tends to raise out the grain
